AceShowbiz - A Garth Brooks fan who was seriously injured at a December 2017 show in Nashville, Tennessee has received $65,000 (£50,500) in compensation.
Jean Ann Crenshaw suffered a fractured nose, nerve damage, and facial lacerations, one of which required five stitches and came within half an inch of piercing her eye, after a mid-concert confetti-and-balloon celebration went awry.
When the netting holding the balloons failed to drop, a crew member used a metal pole to release the colourful decorations from the roof, only for the pole to slip from his hands, plummeting to the floor of Bridgestone Arena, where Crenshaw and her friends were seated.
The Kentucky resident was quickly escorted from her seat, covered in blood, to receive emergency medical attention, and now it's been revealed that balloon company bosses at Iden Entertainment have taken responsibility for the horror accident, and have settled a claim filed with their insurance officials at State Farm.
According to Billboard, they agreed to pay Crenshaw a total of $65,000 to cover medical fees, with $40,000 (£31,000) for additional damages.
The balloon drop was arranged by Brooks' wife Trisha Yearwood to celebrate the success of her husband's single "Ask Me How I Know".
