A photo of an inanimate, plain egg has collected an incredible 24.3 million likes on the social media platform beating the 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star's 2018 post that had 18.1 million likes.

AceShowbiz - Kylie Jenner has hilariously responded after her record for the most-liked Instagram picture was broken by an egg.

The 21-year-old reality star previously held the record thanks to a snap she shared of her daughter Stormi in 2018 - a picture which received a staggering 18.1 million likes.

But Kylie's impressive feat has now been overshadowed by an image of an inanimate, plain egg, which had an incredible 24.3 million likes as WENN went to press on Monday morning (January 14).

Responding to the news of her record being broken, Kylie shared a meme based on a Snapchat video of herself cracking an egg onto the floor. "Kylie when she sees the world record egg account," the meme read alongside the footage, which appeared to have been taken from Kylie's attempt to fry the egg on the hot Los Angeles sidewalk.

"Take that little egg," Kylie wrote as she shared the post to her Instagram page.

The @world_record_egg account has just one post - the egg picture - which was shared on January 4 and captioned: "Let's set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this."

The account has now changed its info to read: "Official world record holders of the most liked picture on Instagram. Now where's our blue tick?".

While Kylie first achieved fame through her family's reality show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians", she used social media to make herself one of the most famous celebrities in the world. She now boasts 123 million followers on Instagram - substantially more than the egg's 2.3 million followers.
