Expressing his regret for the decision to push back the mid-February gigs, Matthew Ramsey says in a released statement that he has to take care of himself to put on the best show for fans.

AceShowbiz - Country stars Old Dominion have been forced to postpone a trio of upcoming shows to allow frontman Matthew Ramsey to undergo surgery on his leg.

The singer had been putting up with the old injury "for some time", but now it's become an issue which requires medical attention, so the group has had to push back three shows booked for mid-February until later in the year.

"Postponing concert dates was not the way I planned on starting 2019...," Ramsey shares in a statement obtained by Billboard.com.

"Unfortunately, the only way I can get back to the old me is to fix some things surgically. I want to be able to put on the best show I possibly can for you all and, in order to do that, I've got to take care of myself. I thank you all in advance for understanding, and I look forward to making a full recovery so that we all rock together. See you soon!".

The affected dates on the 2019 "Make It Sweet Tour" were originally due to take place between February 14 and 16 in Ontario, Canada, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Fort Wayne, Indiana. They have each been rescheduled and will now be held between March and June.

Ramsey and his bandmates will still kick off the trek on January 18 in Chicago, Illinois, and perform until February 9, before resuming the shows on February 27.
