Meek, who has dissed NFL over its unfair treatment to Colin Kaepernick, responds to news of the 'Sicko Mode' rapper joining Maroon 5 at the event by tweeting, 'For what???'

AceShowbiz - Maroon 5 has finally found a guest performer to join them at the upcoming Super Bowl LIII halftime show. It has been reported that Travis Scott (II) will join the seven-piece band at the event on Sunday, February 3 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The rapper will also take the stage at Pepsi's pre-Super Bowl concert on February 1.

Travis allegedly will not be the only act to accompany Maroon 5 during the gig, as the Adam Levine-fronted band is currently "in talks" with Cardi B and Big Boi to perform too. Reps for Travis, Maroon 5 and NFL didn't immediately respond to request for comment, but a source reported that an announcement would be coming soon.

The report apparently did not sit well with his fellow rappers, considering the treatment NFL gives to former San Fransisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. As a reminder, the athlete has not been offered a job since he opted out of his contract following the 2016 season, when he began protesting racial injustice and police violence during the national anthem.

Among those who didn't take the news well was Meek Mill, who dissed NFL on his song "Trauma". Linking a tweet to the report, he wrote along with it, "For what????" He added in another tweet, "He don't need that he on fire already! Stay strong in this s**t!" Jay-Z, who has been highly critical of the NFL over its treatment to Colin, is also reportedly attempting to talk the "Sicko Mode" hitmaker out of performing.

Report that Maroon 5 will be headlining the annual game's halftime show began in September, though NFL played coy when asked about the rumor. "It's a Super Bowl tradition to speculate about the performers for the Pepsi Halftime Show," so the organization said in a statement. "We are continuing to work with [longtime sponsor] Pepsi on our plans but do not have any announcements to make on what will be another epic show."
