Mark Sheehan, The Script guitarist, admits to accidentally injure the band's frontman after kicking him in a chest during a pre-performance routine.

AceShowbiz - The Script guitarist Mark Sheehan confessed to injuring bandmate Danny O'Donoghue, breaking the singer's rib after he kicked him in the chest.

According to editors at the Irish Mirror, the 42-year-old admitted to kicking the Dublin singer during their rowdy pre-performance routine. The band reportedly warms up for gigs by sparring with each other, the Irish Sun has reported.

"I caught Danny's ribs a couple of weeks ago and, you know, knocked a rib out from him," Mark told the publication.

"We warm up that way so we do it honestly because it gets all the aggression out and when we get to the studio everybody is best friends."

The former "The Voice UK" mentor has weathered a similar injury before.

In 2013, Danny broke a rib after falling off the back of an inflatable boat.

He said at the time: "I was bouncing around on the f**king thing and I popped out the back and crashed onto my ribs."

Danny, quit "The Voice UK" after coaching partially-sighted singer Andrea Begley to success on series two because he was "burned out".

"It was difficult to get the artists a record deal," he told British newspaper Metro. "The Script, meanwhile, had one of our biggest hits — Hall of Fame — when I was on the show. But I was struggling."

"The band were doing a world tour. I was writing and producing, then my mum fell ill. She had a brain aneurysm. That was behind my decision to leave."

The frontman credited his bandmates Mark and Glen Power for being there to "pick me up when I am down".
