In an upcoming episode of her Facebook Watch series, the 'Gotham' alum talks about how she battled depression for years and recalls having a nervous breakdown which she didn't understand what it was.

AceShowbiz - Jada Pinkett Smith opens up further about her struggle with mental health issues. In an upcoming episode of "Red Table Talk", the former "Hawthorne" star shared with her daughter, Willow Smith, and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, about how she felt every morning when she suffered from severe depression.

A sneak peek at the new episode of her Facebook Watch series has been released, and in it, the 47-year-old actress confessed, "Waking up in the morning was like the worst part of the day." Still, her struggle didn't end there. She recalled having to spend hours to get through her depression, and to restart it again each day.

In another shared clip, the wife of Will Smith explained in more details how it feels to have a depression. "It's like when you don't have control over emotions, your thoughts, you feel completely and utterly out of control," she broke it down. "I don't even think at that particular time I understood that it was what people would consider a nervous breakdown."

This wasn't the first time Jada got candid about her mental health problems. Back in June, the "Girls Trip" star admitted to be having suicidal thoughts when paying tributes to celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain and fashion designer Kate Spade through an Instagram post.

"One thing I’ve learned in my life over the years is that mental health is something we should practice daily, not just when issues arise," she wrote. "We should take care of our mind and spirit in the same way we do our body. With the suicides of Kate and Anthony it brought up feelings of when I was in such despair and had considered the same demise...often."

The mother of Jaden Smith continued on, "Mental health is a daily practice for me. It’s a practice of deep self-love." She concluded her post with a positive attitude, "Many may not understand... but I do, and this morning I have the deepest gratitude that I pulled through."
