While she learned to forgive her father Will Smith and mother Jada Pinkett for the way they handled her popularity, the 'Whip My Hair' hitmaker says that she also had to forgive herself.

AceShowbiz - Willow Smith gets real honest about what her early fame has cost her. In the newest episode of "Red Table Talk", the "Whip My Hair" hitmaker sat down with her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, to discuss forgiveness, and opened up about her feeling of not being listened to by both of her parents.

When asked by Jada on the December 3 episode whom she needed to forgive, the 18-year-old replied, "I definitely had to forgive you and daddy for that whole 'Whip My Hair' thing. It was mostly daddy because he was so harsh at certain times." She further elaborated, "It was a couple of years, honestly. Trying to regain trust for not feeling like I was being listened to or like no one cared how I felt."

Still, the younger sister of Jaden Smith didn't put all the blame on her parents. "I had to forgive myself because I felt guilty, because everyone is trying to make me better, trying to make my dream," she added. "But I didn't really understand what my dream entailed."

This was not the first time Willow talked about the negative effect of her success. Back in May, she admitted that her fame at a tender age of 10 led to depression and self-harm. "After all of that kinda settled down and it was like a kind of lull, I was just listening to a lot of dark music," she recalled the period after her big break with her debut single. "It was just so crazy and I was plunged into this black hole, and I was cutting myself."

Her confession gained shocked reactions from her mother and grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Norris. When asked further where did she cut herself, she responded, "On my wrist. I mean, you can't even see it but there's still a little something there. But like, (I) totally lost my sanity for a moment there. I never talk about it because it was such a short weird point in my life. But you have to pull yourself out of it."
