Despite the snub, the country singer still plans to attend the Nashville, Tennessee ceremony so he can cheer on all of his pals.

AceShowbiz - Country star Kane Brown was left disheartened after failing to pick up any nominations for the 2018 CMA Awards.

The "What Ifs" hitmaker has emerged as one of the industry's top young talents in the past two years, and dominated the country categories at the American Music Awards last month by taking home Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album for his self-titled debut, and Favorite Song for "Heaven".

However, Kane won't even be in the running for any prizes at next week's Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, because he was completely shut out when the shortlist was announced in August.

"I was upset a little bit just because I felt like we had a very good year," the 25 year old tells The Associated Press.

"I felt like me and Luke Combs and Brett Young were the most-talked about (artists) of the year. I felt like I should have at least been recognised."

Both Combs and Young will be among the nominees for the New Artist of the Year honour, while Combs is also up for Male Vocalist of the Year.

Despite the snub, Kane still plans to attend the Nashville, Tennessee ceremony on 14 November so he can cheer on all of his pals.

"I don't have any hurt feelings," he insists. "I'll still be at the show and I will still be rooting for everybody that got nominated. All those people are still family. I wish good on everybody and I'm not really hurt at all."

The upcoming CMA Awards will be co-hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, who will be fronting the show for the 11th year in a row. Chris Stapleton leads all nominees with five nods.
