The project features afrobeat jam 'Checklist' and sultry song 'Slow Down', with the latter song talking about an unrequited love.

AceShowbiz - Normani Kordei's solo career is taking off. Following the success of her collaboration with Khalid on "Love Lies", the singer and dancer has now teamed up with Calvin Harris for an untitled EP which was released on Monday, October 22.

The project only features two songs, "Checklist" and "Slow Down". The first track is an afrobeat jam which finds her showcasing her bossy and rhythmic vocals with the help from Nigerian singer-songwriter WizKid. "Come show me what the neck 'bout/ Might show you what the check 'bout," she sings over hypnotic beats.

Keeping true to its title, Normani slows things down on the second track, though the music still makes you want to hit the dance floor. She sings about an unrequited lover who doesn't appreciate her attentiveness and love for them. "Could you just be real? Don't be scared to feel this/ We can make the world go still," the chanteuse rhymes on the sultry song.

Normani has a busy year after Fifth Harmony announced that they would be going on an indefinite hiatus. Besides "Love Lies", which has spent 34 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100, she teamed up with Quavo on "Swing" off "Quavo Huncho" as well as Jessie Reyez and Kehlani on "Body Count" remix. She is now gearing up for the release of her debut solo album.

Earlier this year, she spilled details about her upcoming effort in an interview with The Fader. "I am going back to the music that I grew up with that really inspires me," she said. "I get to pull from that and incorporate those sounds into this project. It's not like somebody else sitting in a chair over at the label has a set idea as to who these girls are going to be and us having to go along with that."
