Released during the show's panel at New York Comic Con, the trailer reveals first look at superheroes team The Seven as well as the company behind them, Vought International.

AceShowbiz - Amazon released the first trailer of its upcoming series "The Boys" during its panel at New York Comic Con on Friday, October 5. The clip reveals the first look at The Seven, a major superhero team in the show's universe, as well as the company behind them, Vought International.

It begins with Madelyn Stillwell (Elisabeth Shue) proudly introducing the hero management company as clips of The Seven helping people around the nation play on the screen. "We provide the world with safety, service and the super it deserves," she says. "So no matter where your adventures take you, always remember Vought is here for you."

The end of the trailer sees The Boys watching the introduction clip. They are clearly not a big fan of Vought International as they put up their middle fingers.

Based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, "The Boys" takes place in a world where superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. The Boys, a blue-collar team of ruffians, is the one who keeps them in check, even if that means disemboweling and dismembering them.

It stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Laz Alonzo as Mother's Milk, Jack Quaid as Hughie and Karen Fukuhara as Female. Simon Pegg was recently announced to join the cast of the show, playing Hughie's father.

"He's just one in a line of men who haven't really fronted up to life and has spent most of his time eating pizza rolls and watching 'Remington Steele'," Pegg described his character during the NYCC panel. "Hughie really is the one that breaks that cycle of inactivity and torpor, so in a way Hugh's father is a specter of his own kind of inaction and he has to take a stand."

Produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, "The Boys" will premiere on Amazon sometime in 2019.
