On 'The Hills: New Beginnings', the 'O.C.' alum will join original cast members from the MTV reality series including Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado among others.

AceShowbiz - Mischa Barton is moving from Orange County to Beverly Hills. "The O.C." alum has been added to MTV's "The Hills" revival series "The Hills: New Beginnings".

Barton is set to join original cast members from "The Hills" including Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado, Heidi Pratt, Jason Wahler, Justin "Bobby" Brescia, Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt and Whitney Port. Meanwhile, Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari are not returning for the reboot.

Barton was mostly known for her role as Marissa Cooper on FOX's "The O.C." which debuted in 2003. The series was later made into a spin-off "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" which aired on MTV. The network later premiered "The Hills", which served as "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" spin-off.

The actress confirms the news on Instagram as she posts a video of her in her car. "Welcome to the Hills, b***h!" she says, while Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" plays in the background. Fans of "The Hills" must be familiar with the song as it was the theme song for the reality show.

"The secret's out... I'm joining the cast of The Hills. When MTV approached me with the chance to be a part of the reality show that was inspired by The OC, it felt like the perfect opportunity for an irresistibly inviting new chapter," Barton writes in the caption.

Fans are equally excited with the addition. "oh my ! I wonder how she will fit in!!! Soo excited! I'm thinking wine night for first ep?" a fan writes in the comment section. Another fan adds, "My life is complete! Is this a dream? Literally cannot wait xxx."

First announced in August at the MTV Video Music Awards, "The Hills: New Beginnings" is set to follow the cast members as well as their new friends and families as they navigate their personal and professional lives in Los Angeles. The show will also star newcomers Kaitlynn Carter, Jennifer Delgado and Ashley Wahler.

The revival will premiere sometime in 2019.
