A lawyer for Nelly confirms that the 'Just a Dream' rapper and his accuser, Monique Greene, have both mutually agreed to drop the year-long lawsuit.

AceShowbiz - Rapper Nelly has settled a year-long legal spat with a woman who accused him of raping her on a tour bus.

Monique Greene claimed last October (17), she was sexually assaulted by the "Hot in Herre" hitmaker after a concert he performed in Seattle, Washington.

In court papers, she alleged Nelly invited her onto his tour bus, assaulted her and had both oral and vaginal sex against her will.

Greene said she screamed and demanded to be let off the bus. The rapper, who was arrested after the incident, allegedly threw her off and hurled a $100 (GBP76) bill at her.

He countersued, claiming the sex was consensual and he had been defamed.

Prosecutors dropped the case in December (17) after Greene refused to co-operate with them or testify against her alleged attacker.

A lawyer for Nelly tells TMZ both parties agreed to dismiss their cases and no money changed hands.

Following the dismissal of the criminal case against Nelly, the rape accuser launched her own defamation and sexual assault suits against the star.

Greene also filed documents asking the judge to dismiss Nelly's countersuit, because her statements were true and protected by U.S. freedom of speech laws.

She also accused Nelly's girlfriend, Shantel Jackson, of falsely corroborating his alibi to "further his defamation campaign" against her.

In April, she subpoenaed Jackson and asked her to produce all photographs, receipts, social media posts, airline tickets, bus tickets, phone records and other documents regarding her whereabouts on specific dates in June, 2016, October, 2017, and December, 2017.

Greene also requested Nelly's tax returns and his list of alleged witnesses on the dates of the alleged sexual assault, among other items.

The rapper objected to turning over the documents, insisting Greene was jeopardising his privacy and that of his business associates by asking for too much information.
