Many have taken to social media to express their desire to see the 'American Idol' alum headlining the football championship's halftime show.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson might have won a ticket to the 2019 Super Bowl after hitting the stage at U.S. Open, which kicked off on Monday night, August 27 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, New York. Her performance apparently blew everyone's mind away, prompting them to express their desire to see her headlining the football championship's halftime show.

During her performance at the tennis tournament, the "American Idol" alum belted out six of her biggest hits, including "Since U Been Gone", "Walk Away" and "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)". Rocking a stunning silver fringe dress with a large black belt and leather boots, she showcased her breathtaking vocals.

After finishing her set, she jokingly let everyone know who she was rooting for at the championship. "I love opening for Serena Williams!" she told the audience, earning an applause afterward.

Many has taken to social media after watching her performance, calling for her to perform at next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show. "The most fitting athem queen for the 50 yr anniversary. Also this opening is 10000x better than the Super Bowl halftime show - @nfl take note!!!! BOOK THIS QUEEN!!!!!" one excited user wrote on Twitter.

"I feel like @Kelly_Clarkson just submitted her audition for the Super Bowl," another one tweeted, while one individual added, "Whoever is in charge of the super bowl halftime show may I introduce you @kelly_clarkson. Way to go Kelly!"

One other even wondered why "The Voice" judge had not been invited to headline the annual game, writing, "Why haven't we had a Kelly Clarkson Super Bowl halftime show yet." Another asked, "Who is performing at the Superbowl halftime show next year? I think Kelly Clarkson should definitely be given that spot."

Should Kelly be the next headliner at the halftime show, she will follow the likes of Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars and Beyonce Knowles. Justin headlined this year's halftime show, performing classic hits as well as paying tribute to Prince.
