AceShowbiz - Priyanka Chopra recently caused a social media frenzy when she was seen sporting what appeared to be an engagement ring in a new selfie with her friend Raveena Tandon. Not much is known about the Tiffany & Co. sparkler, until E! News reveals some details of the band.
"Priyanka's ring is a high quality cushion cut weighing around 4 carats," Andrew Brown, President of WP Diamonds, tells the webloid. "It looks to be somewhere around a G color, VS1 clarity which, from Tiffany & Co., would have a value of around $200,000."
However, gemologist and diamond expert Grant Mobley thinks otherwise. She suggests that the ring is about five carats and costs around $300,000. "It is a timeless design and features a cushion-cut diamond set in platinum with what looks like small baguette diamonds on the side," she says, adding that these diamonds are among the best found in nature. "The classic style and design of this ring is perfect for Priyanka."
The Indian actress was reportedly engaged to Nick Jonas last month. Following their engagement, it is reported that the lovebirds and his family will fly to India to attend an engagement party hosted by her family.
"Nick Jonas and his immediate family are traveling to India this weekend to attend an engagement party hosted by Priyanka's family," a source recently shared to E! News. "It's going to be the first time that their families intermingle and get to know each other. It's a tradition for them to meet before the wedding and Priyanka's family insisted on hosting the Jonas family in their country."
The source went on saying that the "Baywatch" star "wants everything to be traditional to respect her family's values, and definitely an Indian wedding." She and her singer boyfriend allegedly "are excited for everyone to meet and to celebrate."
"Everything is very secretive but guests are expected to head there starting tomorrow," the insider added. "All of the plans are moving quickly and Priyanka and Nick do not want to have a long engagement."
