Top producers and executives are eager to work with the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' director after Disney parted ways with him.

AceShowbiz - James Gunn may soon easily get a new job after being fired by Walt Disney Studios. The filmmaker is reportedly high in demand by major studios in Hollywood despite his controversial jokes that cost him "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" directing gig.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, top producers and executives are looking to work with Gunn. "I'd work with him in a heartbeat," one senior executive at a rival studio tells the site, which is echoed by "the dozen or so execs and producers THR spoke with."

For now, however, Gunn is not permitted to entertain other offers while his negotiation to exit Disney is ongoing. "I've been advised that we can't bring anything to him until the Disney matter is 100 percent resolved," says another studio executive.

Warner Bros., which has its own superhero film universe, and several Oscar-winning producers are among other top players who are reportedly interested to work with Gunn.

Disney fired Gunn after his old tweets, in which he joked about rape, pedophilia, 9/11 and the Holocaust, were brought to light by the conservative website The Daily Caller. The studio refused to rehire him despite the "Guardians of the Galaxy" cast's letter demanding his reinstatement.

Dave Bautista recently said he would return for the third installment of the "Guardians" film series because it was a contract obligation. "I will do what Im legally obligated to do but @Guardians without @JamesGunn is not what I signed up for. GOTG w/o @JamesGunn just isn't GOTG," he tweeted. "Its also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis . That's just how I feel."

He also threatens to quit the upcoming sequel if Gunn's script is not used. Gunn has finished writing the "GOTG 3" script and there have been conflicting stories about whether or not Disney will use his script.
