AceShowbiz - Veteran rocker David Crosby is refusing to buy into the ABBA revival, insisting the Swedish pop band's music is "dog poop".
The "Mamma Mia!" sequel has turned the world onto the group's music again, with fans grabbing the soundtrack by the fistful - and there's even plans for a 2019 hologram tour, featuring new ABBA music, but the Crosby, Stills & Nash star has made it clear he's not a fan in a Twitter exchange.
Asked for a list of his favourite acts, Crosby reeled off the likes of the Beatles, Steely Dan, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, and Jackson Browne, prompting one follower to ask for his opinion on ABBA stars Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' music.
"Dog poop," the rocker replied, adding, "Utter complete pop dog poop... not one decent song ever!"

As fans started to gang up on the veteran, with one tweeting: "Starting to doubt your sanity - great production and melodies - lighten up!" Crosby countered with: "ABBA is about as deep as a birdbath."
Another follower challenged him on the statement, writing: "Deep? Almost cut my hair..." referring to Crosby's 1970 song.
"Fair enough... probably the dumbest song I wrote... probably also the most popular... that's what we're dealing with," he fired back.

ABBA stormed to success in the U.K. after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with their hit "Waterloo, and the band jointly holds the record for most consecutive number one albums, with eight. They also enjoyed success around the world but stopped recording and performing together in 1982.
Although they never officially announced a split, all four members have rarely appeared in public together since, and have repeatedly ruled out reunions. However, they came together in 2016 to celebrate their 50th anniversary at a party in Stockholm, Sweden.
