During a podcast appearance, longtime bandmate Graham Nash reveals that the Crosby, Stills and Nash singer contracted COVID-19 for a second time before his passing in January.

AceShowbiz - David Crosby apparently "never woke up" from a nap when he died in January. Nearly three months after the Crosby, Stills & Nash singer passed away, his longtime bandmate Graham Nash talked about what had happened to the late 81-year-old during an appearance on "Kyle Meredith With..." podcast.

In the April 6 episode of the podcast, Graham got into details of David's passing. "He was rehearsing for a show to do in Los Angeles with a full band. After three days of rehearsals, he felt a little sick. And he’d already had COVID, and he had COVID again," the 81-year-old musician recalled.

Further recounting what happened before his bandmate's death, The Hollies member spilled, "And so he went home and decided that he would take a nap, and he never woke up. But he died in his bed, and that is fantastic." He further added, "I mean, the fact that he made it to 81 was astonishing."

During the chat, Graham additionally confessed how he felt over David's death. "But [his death] was a shock. It was kind of like an earthquake, you know? You get the initial shock and then you figure out that you survived. But these aftershocks kept coming up, and they're diminishing in size as I go along," he admitted.

This was not the first time Graham talked about David following the latter's passing. In early February, he had an interview with AARP in which he shared, "I think one of the only things that we can do, particularly me, is only try to remember the good times. Try to remember the great music that we made."

"I'm only going to be interested in the good times, because if I concentrate on the bad times, it gets too weird for me," Graham went on to share. Reflecting on how his relationship with David was before the latter's death, he spilled, "The fact is that we were getting a little closer at the end."

"He had sent me a voicemail saying that he wanted to talk to apologize, and could we set up a time to talk. I emailed him back and said, 'Okay, call me at eleven o'clock tomorrow your time, which is two o'clock on the East Coast.' He never called, and then he was gone," he continued.

David passed away at the age of 81 on January 18. At the time, his family claimed that he passed from "a long illness" without specifying his illness. "It is with great sadness after a long illness, that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has passed away. He was lovingly surrounded by his wife and soulmate Jan and son Django," his family told Variety.
