AceShowbiz - Singer Dua Lipa is taking employees at United Airlines to task for they way they handled her sister's peanut allergy.
The One Kiss hitmaker blasted an airline steward on Wednesday, July 25 on Twitter for suggesting her sister keep her medication close in case she suffered an allergy attack because they are not a nut-free airline.
"I can't believe i'm on a @united flight rn (right now) and I told the steward that my sister was severly (sic) allergic to nuts and his reply was 'we're not a nut free airline so if she has an epi pen she might have to use that as we can't not serve other passengers in your section nuts (sic)'," she wrote.
"Is it just me or is that kinda mental???," she added.
According to a post on the United Airlines website, the company does not serve "pre-packaged peanuts" on flights, but meals and snacks are prepared using "a variety of other ingredients including major food allergens".
Passenger safety is our top priority. We can’t guarantee an allergen-free environment but we work to address allergy concerns onboard ie we don’t serve pre-packaged peanuts. We want to address your concerns so let’s connect when you land. We’ll contact our in-flight crew too. ^SV— United Airlines (@united) July 25, 2018

After spotting Lipa's messages, executives responded to the 22-year-old star to address the issue.
"Passenger safety is our top priority," a message reads. "We can't guarantee an allergen-free environment but we work to address allergy concerns onboard ie we don't serve pre-packaged peanuts. We want to address your concerns so let's connect when you land. We'll contact our in-flight crew too".
It is unclear if the singer has met with anyone from the airline.
