Details of the spin-off are very scarce, but Hemsworth and his "Thor: Ragnarok" co-star Tessa Thompson are expected to play characters similar to Smith and Jones in the original movie. Liam Neeson also joins the cast, reportedly to play the head of the Men in Black organization in London. Kumail Nanjiani and Rafe Spall are among other actors to star in the movie.

Alleged storyline emerged in May, revealing that "the new 'MEN IN BLACK' spin-off film will see Tessa Thompson's Em try to prove herself by joining the London MIB and will be paired with Chris Hemworth's Agent H. The pair will become involved in a murder mystery that will lead to them on a global journey."

Hemsworth told Variety, "We're basically trying to put a lot of humor in to it like the previous ones." He added, "They're trying to change up the locations, make it feel unique and different to the last ones as well. So I think you might even see some different countries, maybe. Some different cities than you've seen in the previous 'Men in Black' movies."

F. Gary Gray has been tapped to serve as director, with Matt Holloway and Art Marcum providing the script. The movie is scheduled to be released on June 14, 2019.
