AceShowbiz - Kirsten Dunst and Kristin Scott Thomas are among the stars helping Sonia Rykiel's Julie de Libran with her charity sweater project.

To celebrate 50 years since late designer Sonia Rykiel opened her first store on Paris' Left Bank, artistic director de Libran is curating a whole year of special events and product launches, including the label's first couture offering.

She's also recruited some of her A-list friends to create pieces for her Generous Sweaters collection.

"To mark the anniversary of the house and of a year which changed the social landscape in France, it was important for me to create a platform for expression that was also an opportunity to give something back to society," de Libran said, reports Vogue.com.

As well as actresses Kirsten and Kristin, models Liya Kebede and Langley Fox have also showed off their design skills, paying homage to designer Rykiel, who was labelled "Queen of the Knits" after finding fashion fame with her Poor Boy Sweater in the early '60s, which was loved by Audrey Hepburn.

The collection was unveiled at the recent Sonia Rykiel couture presentation in Paris and will hit shelves in October.
