The "Cruel Intentions" actress, who turns 46 on Saturday, revealed to fans that she had been sober for two years in a candid post on Instagram on Thursday night.

To accompany the caption, Selma shared a photo of herself wearing a party hat and posing beside a birthday cake featuring two candles, a selfie of her with two friends, and a snap of her six-year-old son Arthur with a dog on his lap.

Selma's sober anniversary comes two years after she hit headlines in June 2016 after she was carried off of a flight from Mexico to Los Angeles on a stretcher for raging about an unseen enemy she alleged had burned her "private parts".

At the time, she issued an apology for her "big mistake" to Vanity Fair, explaining that she mixed alcohol with medication and "that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret."

"I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident," she added. "I am truly very sorry."

News of the "Legally Blonde" star's sobriety comes just a month after she revealed she had "battled alcoholism and depression and anxiety" early in her career in another candid Instagram post, in which she also opened up about her battle with postpartum depression.
