AceShowbiz - Comedienne and actress Retta has slammed the media for reporting the saga surrounding her former "Parks and Recreation" castmate Aziz Ansari's sexual msconduct allegations.

Back in January, a photographer named Grace claimed she had the "worst night" of her life during a date with Aziz, when she had bad sex with the star at his apartment.

Many celebrity pals have spoken out to slam the accuser for going public with her sex encounter on Babe.net, and now Retta, real name Marietta Sirleaf, is taking aim at the outlets which picked up the story.

"I feel like a lot of people and a lot of other outlets were like, 'Why did you even run this story?'" Retta said during an appearance at the 2018 Vulture Festival in New York over the weekend (May 20).

"I'm giving my personal opinion, and I don't want f**king people coming at me. You know what I mean? But I feel like I've been on that date so many times. I was like, 'If you haven't been on that date twice, are you even living a life?'"

"I had this conversation specifically with one of my good girlfriends, and she was like, 'I don't know how this is a story. I didn't get it'," she added. "I don't want to get into it. I didn't like it. Because I'm the first person to be like, 'F**k that mother f**ker. He's an a**hole. He's a f**king a**hole'. And I didn't think he was an a**hole and I didn't appreciate it."

Retta isn't the only celebrity backing Ansari over the drama - comedian and actor Joel McHale has defended him against the sexual assault claims, insisting the alleged incident sounds more like a "bad date" - and the subsequent story is unfair to Aziz.

"The problem is people will read just the name and just the accusation and they don't find out anything more than that," he told TMZ in January. "That's the problem, but it (the situation) sounds like it was consensual."
