The rapper, who was recently released from prison, slams the 'Gold Digger' rapper over his controversial remarks by posting a fake memorial picture of Kanye.

AceShowbiz - Meek Mill is using Kanye West's lyrics to point his fellow rapper towards the light following his controversial rant about U.S. slavery. The "Stronger" hitmaker sparked outrage on Tuesday, May 1 when he suggested slavery was "a choice" in an interview with TMZ.

"You hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years? That sounds like a choice," the 40-year-old told the hosts of TMZ Live in the shocking video interview. "Like, that was there for 400 years and it's all of y'all?"

Fans and critics alike turned on the rapper following the controversy, prompting Kanye to take to Twitter to clarify his remarks. "To make myself clear. Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will," he wrote. "My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved."

"They cut out our tongues so we couldn't communicate to each other," he added. "I will not allow my tongue to be cut."

However, Kanye is now facing criticism from fellow celebrities, including rapper will.i.am and director Ava DuVernay, and Meek has now added his thoughts by using West's lyrics from his 2007 song "Can't Tell Me Nothing" to try to get through to him.

"To whom much is giving much is tested... get arrested I guess until he get the message... I feel the pressure under more scrutiny and what I do 'act more stupidly,' " he writes on Instagram alongside a fake memorial picture of Kanye.

Meek also concludes his post with the hashtags "#oldye" "#wemissyoubro" and reveals the lyrics touched him during his most recent prison stint, which ended when he walked free from jail last month.

TV self-help guru Dr. Phil McGraw has also weighed in on the controversy, telling TMZ that what Kanye said was an example of "disregulated thought," calling the outspoken rap star "irresponsible" and "ignorant."
