While many people consider the movie as a failure, the actress reveals in an interview that she doesn't think so because of multiple reasons.

AceShowbiz - Halle Berry has no regrets about starring in "Catwoman", even though her loved ones begged her not to accept the part. The superhero movie is widely considered a commercial flop, after being panned by critics upon release in 2004 and going on to receive multiple Razzie Award nominations, which included a Worst Actress win for Halle.

Yet, in spite of its reputation, the 51-year-old has now insisted that Catwoman was a positive experience overall.

"Everybody around me said, 'Girl, don't do it. It's going to be the death of you. It's going to end your career.' But guess what I did? I followed my intuition and I did a movie called 'Catwoman' and it bombed miserably," she recalled, as she accepted the 2018 Matrix Award from New York Women in Communications on Monday, April 23. "While it failed to most people, it wasn't a failure for me because I met so many interesting people that I wouldn't have met otherwise, I learned two forms of martial arts and I learned not what to do."

She also admitted that she made "a s**t load of money that changed (my) life".

Back in 2005, Halle accepted her Razzie with good humor and famously became the second actress in history to attend the ceremony and claim her prize. She did so while clutching the Academy Award she won in 2002 for Best Actress in "Monster's Ball".

Speaking in New York, the Hollywood star also shared that she was initially nervous about accepting her Oscar-winning role due to the "explicit" sex scene she was required to portray. "When I read that script as a young artist, I was scared to death," she told the crowd. "But I knew that this was a role that could change my life and help me reach that dream that I longed for since I was a little girl."
