Lea Michele and 'Spring Awakening' Castmates Help Parkland Students With Musical Production

They gave the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students a few pointers as they prepared to perform their version of the production at the Boca Black Box Center in Florida.

AceShowbiz - Lea Michele gave students at the Florida high school involved in a mass shooting in February a big boost by visiting them as they rehearsed for a new school musical. The former "Glee" star joined her former "Spring Awakening" castmates Jonathan Groff, Skylar Astin, and Remy Zaken. among others.

They gave the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students a few pointers as they prepared to perform their version of the production at the Boca Black Box Center for the Arts in Boca Raton, Florida. Lea took to Twitter to share a picture of them posing together.

"What an honor joining my original Broadway Spring Awakening cast in Florida yesterday to work with some of the Stoneman Douglas students and their castmates on their production of Spring Awakening," Lea wrote on the micro-blogging site.

The students' production of "Spring Awakening" will premiere next month.

In February, 17 students and teachers were killed when a gunman opened fire at the school. Several students have been protesting in support of changing America's gun laws and Lea is praising them for their efforts.
