The 'Teen Wolf' alum is slated to reprise his role as Roy Harper a.k.a. Arsenal in a series regular capacity in the upcoming season 7 of The CW series.

AceShowbiz - Colton Haynes is heading back to the Star City. The actor is set to return to "Arrow" as a series regular in the upcoming season 7 of The CW series.

The "Teen Wolf" alum, who is set to reprise his role as fan-favorite character Roy Harper a.k.a. Arsenal, first joined the cast of superhero series during the second half of the first season as a recurring character. He was later upped to a series regular in season 2 with a two-year deal.

"We're very fortunate and excited to welcome back Colton to 'Arrow'," executive producers for the series said in a statement. "While we've always enjoyed Colton's returns to the show, we couldn't be more thrilled to have him return as a proper series regular and we're very excited about all the creative opportunities Roy Harper's return affords us."

Colton added, "I could not be happier to return to my role as Roy Harper alongside my Arrow family."

The news of Colton's return arrives after The CW gave the series a season 7 renewal. However, even after his exit at the end of season 3, Colton made some recurring guest appearances. Colton also reprised his role as the teen sidekick of Stephen Amell's Green Arrow in two episodes of current season 6. Most recently, Colton appeared in episode 16, "The Thanatos Guild", which featured a major off-screen storyline for Roy, Thea (Willa Holland) and Nyssa (Katrina Law).

Besides "Arrow", The CW also renewed 9 other shows, including "The Flash", "Supergirl", "Riverdale" and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend". "As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday through Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19," Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, said in a statement.

"Arrow" airs Thursday at 9 P.M. on The CW.
