'I'm doing just fine,' the 'Justice League' actor writes in response to the site's recent article about his huge phoenix back tattoo, before adding, 'Thick skin bolstered by garish.'

AceShowbiz - After being Twitterverse's bully target for his huge back tattoo, Ben Affleck has broken his silence on the matter. It appears that the Batman depicter knows how to poke fun at himself by responding to a recent New Yorker article about his tattoo.

Titled "The Great Sadness of Ben Affleck", the story is about Ben's massive phoenix tattoo which recently was revealed to be real, despite the actor claiming it was "fake for a movie" back in 2016. The article further describes the piece as a "garish tattoo."

Ben later takes to his Twitter account to respond to the article. "@NewYorker I'm doing just fine," the "Justice League" actor writes. "Thick skin bolstered by garish."

Fans are loving Ben's response as one user wrote, "You tell em Ben. You're awesome," alongside a photo of Ben's Batman giving a thumbs up. Other users also show support for the "Gone Girl" star, saying, "drag them with kindness sis," and, "I'm rooting for you Ben."

Ben's best buddy Matt Damon also defended him in his recent interview with Trevor Noah on "The Daily Show". "It's not one man's job to tell another man what he can to his back. I support him in all of his artistic expression," Matt said.

The 45-year-old flaunted the tattoo when he was in a training session for his upcoming movie "Triple Frontier" in Hawaii. Ben allegedly got the piece, which depicts a colorful phoenix rising from the ashes, after his 2015 split from ex Jennifer Garner. Describing himself getting reborn, the tattoo was said to be taking "hours and hours" in the making process.

After learning the truth that the tattoo was indeed real, some people took to Twitter to hilariously react to the revelation. "I knew it! That stupid back tattoo is real on Ben Affleck. What the hell was he thinking!!!" a user tweeted. Meanwhile, one other implied that Ben's "tattoo drama" was more interesting than Robert Mueller's investigation. "I've been following the Ben Affleck back tattoo drama more closely than the Mueller investigation," the user tweeted.

Jennifer also found Ben's tattoo unflattering. She previously weighed in on the giant back tattoo, saying, "You know what we would say in my hometown about that? 'Bless his heart.' A phoenix rising from the ashes. Am I the ashes in this scenario? I take umbrage. I refuse to be the ashes."
