Oprah Winfrey may be a popular choice for presidential candidate for 2020, but there is only one thing that can make her run for the role. In PEOPLE's latest cover story, the media mogul reveals that she may run for President only if God shows her a sign.

"I went into prayer," she tells the publication. " 'God if you think I'm supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.' And I haven't gotten that."

Many people have been hoping that Oprah will run for President following her Cecil B. DeMille Awards acceptance speech at the 2018 Golden Globes. The "A Wrinkle in Time" actress admits that she did not expect for her speech to receive the attention it has gotten.

"When I walked off with Reese [Reese Witherspoon], I thought, 'I got that done,' " she recalls. "It wasn't until I was back in the press room that they said, 'Do you realize you're trending?' "

Oprah goes on revealing that her best friend, Gayle King, urges her to consider running for President. Oprah is also approached by billionaires who want to support her campaign and back her up.

"I had people -- wealthy, billionaires -- calling me up and saying, 'I can get you a billion dollars. I can run your campaign,' " she says. "That many people saying something made me think, 'Am I at least supposed to look at the question?' "

Oprah initially was not interested in running for the role, saying that being a President is not in her future. "I've always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it's not something that interest me," the former daytime talk show host previously told InStyle. "I don't have the DNA for it."
