Youtube Red has dropped the first teaser of its upcoming series "Cobra Kai". The nearly fifty-second video offers the first look at "The Karate Kid" sequel series which is set 30 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament.

The teaser opens with a dramatic score. Ralph Macchio's Daniel LaRusso can be heard telling his former high school bully William Zabka's Johnny Lawrence, "I just don't know why you'd ever want to bring back Cobra Kai."

As Johnny's life is taking a turn for the worst, he is seeking redemption by reopening the infamous old dojo. "We are not trained to be merciful here. Mercy is for the weak," he tells his new pupils, before adding, "Are you ready to learn the way of the fist?" His new pupils excitedly reply, "Yes, Sensei!"

Toward the end of the teaser, Johnny and Daniel finally meet. "Johnny, you and I, this, we aren't done," Daniel, who is now leading a picture-perfect life as a family man and successful car dealer, tells his rival.

"Cobra Kai" will also star Xolo Mariduena ("Parenthood"), who plays Miguel Diaz. Miguel is a victim of high school bullies who's taken under Johnny's wing. Meanwhile, Tanner Buchanan ("Designated Survivor") portrays Johnny's son Robby Keene, who's determined to prove himself to be nothing like his father.

Playing Daniel's wife and business partner Amanda is Courtney Henggeler ("Mom"), while Mary Mouser ("Freakish") plays the couple's daughter Samantha. Ed Asner and Sid Weinberg are tapped to guest-star on the upcoming series, with the former playing Johnny's old-school stepfather.

The series is written by Josh Heald ("Hot Tub Time Machine") alongside Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg ("Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay"). The trio join Susan Ekins, Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett in executive producing the project.

"Cobra Kai" is scheduled to arrive sometime this year.
