Celebrity

The 24-year-old Chinese singer/actor takes to his official Weibo page to express his frustration over his grueling schedule, writing, 'I wish I could just disappear for a while and not do anything.'

AceShowbiz - While he's managed to make it big at such a young age, the downside of being a hugely popular celebrity is still too much to handle for Tao. The former member of EXO took to his official Weibo page to candidly express his frustration of working non-stop.

"I'm working hard every day as is, and to be honest, I don't want to do anything at this very moment," he wrote on Thursday, January 25. "I can't attend office meetings, can't go home, nor enjoy a nice vacation. I don't even know what day of the week it is anymore. I am bogged down by stress; it's suffocating me."

He continued, "I've never presented such negative words to anyone like this, but seriously I wish I could just disappear for a while and not do anything. This is the first time I'm speaking up like this in 6 years. I'm sure many will tell me to just deal with it because I'm a celebrity after all. And because of that, I've been keeping patient/quiet all this time, so I am writing this today. I just don't know why. I just felt like doing it. I don't want to do anything. It's so painful being unable to breathe."

"My life is not much different from hell," he shared. "I'm not living a fun, happy life, in which you may all envision. Both my body and heart are being oppressed. I apologize for causing much concern, I'm actually sorry for myself."

Trying to cheer him up, Tao's father responded by reposting the message on his own Weibo page and writing, "You did well, my son."

Fans also left encouraging messages, but there are some haters who left negative comments. "Don't be an idol if you can't cope with it," one wrote. Another similarly commented, "i dont understand..no one force him to be famous..he CHOOSE to be idol..and now hes whining about it."

"Welcome to the idol life. it's not easy, stop whining. Everyone in the entertainment industry has it hard even if they are billionaires. Did you think it was going to be a piece of cake? Ofc not. If you can't the stress of the entertainment industry then I'm sorry but you shouldn't be in it. Idc if it's your dream, you know what you get yourself into," read another hateful comment.

Defending the star, whose real name is Huang Zitao, a fan wrote, "Please, watch your words. He has a right to express his feelings and pain. You should have learnt it by now..." Another weighed in, "I don't understand why he can't express his feelings on what he's going through just let him be down for gods sake. He's a human too and just because he signed up to the industry and should expect it doesn't mean he can't feel tired and stressed."

A concerned fan also supported Tao, "That is good you are expressing yourself on how you really feel, instead of keeping it to yourself. Plls keep in mind that you need to rest even for a day. You need to be healthy Tao. What good is having a lot of money when you cant even enjoy it. Take care of yourself always."

Tao debuted as a member of South Korean-Chinese boy group EXO in 2011. In 2015, he filed a lawsuit against S.M. Entertainment to terminate his contract and subsequently departed from the group. He later returned to China and launched his solo career as a musician and an actor.
