AceShowbiz - Sana is under the weather. The Osaka-born member of TWICE has been diagnosed with enteritis and is currently resting at the dorm after she was sent to the hospital to receive treatment for her illness, which is described as an inflammation of the intestine.
A source from JYP Entertainment which represents the girl group said of her condition on Tuesday, January 16, "Sana received a diagnosis of enteritis on January 15 and went to the hospital for treatment. She did not require hospitalization and now she is resting back at the dorm."
Sana and her TWICE groupmates had been participating on MBC's "2018 Idol Star Athletic Championships" on Monday when she was diagnosed with the illness. The group's official Instagram page recently shared photos of the stars during the filming of the show.
In the caption, they thanked their fans ONCE for their support. "Today was a lot of work! Thank you very much for coming with me from dawn until late. We are one of the best [heart emojis]. I would be sleepy, but please support me very much. Come in today and relax. Thank you!" they wrote.
The nine-piece group, who debuted their new song "Heart Shaker" on December 11, is slated to begin their Japanese promotions with a cross-country tour in February. The group is also set to release a new single, "Candy Pop", on February 7.
It's currently unknown if Sana will be able to participate in the group's promotions. The source from JYP stated that Sana's schedule would depend on her condition. We wish Sana a speedy recovery!
Sana was scouted while she was shopping with her friends. She passed the audition in 2012 and became a member of TWICE through Mnet's reality show "Sixteen" in 2015. The group, which first started as a seven-piece with Sana, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun and Chaeyoung, later added Tzuyu and Momo as its members.
The group rose to fame with their song "Cheer Up" which was released in April 2015. Their other hit tracks include "TT", "Signal" and "Likey".
