The Jim Jonsin-produced track will open NBC's broadcast of Super Bowl LII, which will take place on February 4 in Minneapolis.

AceShowbiz - Now that Super Bowl LII is approaching soon, Carrie Underwood has released the annual championship's anthem entitled "The Champion" featuring Ludacris. Its release came after the country singer shared on social media a teaser of the track last weekend.

Produced by Jim Jonsin, the upbeat track finds Carrie singing inspirational verses on the chorus. "I am invincible, unbreakable/ Unstoppable, unshakeable/ They knock me down, I get up again," she sings over the thumping percussion. "I am the champion/ You're gonna know my name/ You can't hurt me now/ I can't feel the pain."

Ludacris' contribution to the track starts after the second chorus. He delivers a bold lyrical verse before passing the baton back to Carrie, who wraps up the song with another powerful chorus.

"The Champion" was written by both Carrie and Ludacris. They were helped by notable songwriters Brett James and Chris DeStefano. The track will open NBC's broadcast of Super Bowl LII, which will take place on February 4 in Minneapolis. It will also be featured on NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympic Games in South Korea.

"When we were writing 'The Champion', our main focus was to celebrate athletes at the top of their game, but we also wanted to resonate with people in their everyday lives," Carrie said of the song in a press release. "We hope the lyrics will inspire people to push themselves beyond their limits to conquer anything they are trying to accomplish or overcome. There's a champion in every single one of us!"

The anthem marks Carrie's first song since she suffered injuries after falling on the front steps of her home in November last year. She had to undergo surgery on her wrist and get over 40 stitches to her face because of that. After the surgery, the songstress shared that she was "determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way."
