AceShowbiz - Earlier this week, YG Entertainment announced that Taeyang would be releasing a song entitled "Louder" for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, which will be held next month. The Big Bang member unveiled the track on Wednesday, January 10. He also performed the track for the first time at the Olympic Torch Relay Ceremony.
Taeyang, who donned an all-white ensemble, was joined by a group of dancers as he walked around the stage while belting out the song. "There is no difficulty that we cannot overcome/ Fly higher and burn passionately/ Be more blinding than the sun," he sang while showing off powerful dance moves. "Shine a light on the world/ So our dreams could be achieved."
"Louder" was produced by Teddy and Taeyang, who has been tapped as the honorary ambassador for this year's Olympics. His label said in statement that the song is "meant to cheer and show support for the upcoming Olympics this year, in hopes of 'gathering together and chanting aloud.' Elements of rock and pop are infused into the new track with a refreshing chorus that many can enjoy singing along."
After being announced as the ambassador, Taeyang expressed his high expectation for the success of 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. "Through my performances outside Korea, I've learned that [people] can come together as one through music despite their differences in language and culture," he said. "I hope that many people will share their dreams and passion through the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics."
In related news, the "Wedding Dress" hitmaker previously revealed the date of his wedding to fiancee Min Hyo Rin. The couple will be tying the knot on Saturday, February 3. "After holding the ceremony at an undisclosed church they often go to with family, close friend and colleagues, they will hold a banquet reception at Paradise City Hotel & Resort in Incheon," so his label stated.
