Selena Gomez is fuming over her family's disapproval of on-again beau Justin Bieber. According to a source close to Selena, the 25-year-old former Disney darling is "upset" with them for believing negative things about the "Sorry" hitmaker. She's allegedly ready to show them that she's happier with him now.

"Selena and Justin are going to be spending Christmas apart, but they're planing to be together to see in the new year," the source revealed to HollywoodLife.com. "Selena gets why her mom [Mandy Teefee] has so many reservations about her seeing Justin again, but she just wishes Mandy would trust her judgement and give him a break."

The insider went on telling the webloid that the "Fetish" songstress was "upset, but totally not phased by her family's disapproval though, if anything it makes her all the more determined to make it work out with Justin to prove them wrong."

The source continued, "Selena can be stubborn as a mule, but also, she's 25-years old, and she believes she knows what's best for, better than her family," before adding, "Justin makes Selena happy, he's the love of her life, and there's no way she's going to walk away from their one last shot at love just to appease her mother."

Ever since Selena rekindled her romance with Justin, she and her mom have been making headlines in the past few weeks. While it appears that they are all just worried that the 23-year-old Canadian singer will end up breaking her heart again, the "Wolves" singer seemingly does not appreciate their controlling ways.

Selena and Justin started dating in December 2010. Their on-again, off-again relationship lasted until 2014. Earlier this year, the blonde songstress started dating The Weeknd, making their debut as a couple at the Met Gala. After 10 months of dating, they broke up in October. Selena then rekindled her romance with Justin.
