Last year, Chance the Rapper and Jeremih celebrated the holiday season by releasing "Merry Christmas Lil' Mama", a collaborative mixtape that everyone didn't see it coming, on Soundcloud. This year, the Chicago duo are back with a deluxe version of the said mixtape.

Chance shared on his social media accounts on Friday, December 15 a teaser video for the upcoming mixtape. He wrote in the caption that their previous project "was so fun and we just ran it back." He added that the mixtape "will be available EVERYWHERE next week [with] a gang of new altxmas bangerz. Shout Common and Lena Waithe for playing new drums on every track on this project."

The clip, which is a parody of a cheesy '90s CD commercial, opens with Jeremih playing a piano while the narrator says, "Now it's that time of a year again, and you know what that means. 'Merry Christmas Lil' Mama'." The tracklist of the project then scrolls up the screen as the duo jam in a studio that's decorated with some Christmas decorations. At the end of the clip, it is revealed that the mixtape will be available on streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud and Tidal.

The producer of the project, Bongo ByTheWay, previously revealed to Rap-Up that the festive project would feature a combination of classic remakes and original songs. "It's gonna be a little bit of both, but pretty much, it's gonna be a completion of that project," he remarked.

"We just put it out for the culture, for the fans and stuff," he continued. "Now, we're really finishing it up and we're gonna put it out right. It's gonna have new music. It's gonna be mixed and mastered and everything. It's gonna be one of those [where] everything is gonna come together super fast."
