Despite splitting, the pair vow to be 'united in supporting each other and our family,' including their two adult children, Larry Jr. and Victoria.

AceShowbiz - "Long Island Medium" stars Theresa Caputo and husband Larry have decided to "legally separate" after 28 years of marriage. The reality TV stars, who share two children together, Larry Jr. and Victoria, announced the split in a joint statement on Sunday, December 3.

"After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate," the couple said. "We will always love each other and our two wonderful children. We are united in supporting each other and our family. Please respect our privacy during this time."

Theresa previously shared on the hit TLC TV series that things in her and Larry's marriage turned bad, adding that there was a "strain" in their marriage. "Since the last season of Long Island Medium and through a period of time, Larry and I's relationship has changed. We've been there for each other, you know, through thick and thin, you know, good times, and right now are not such great times," the 51-year-old star told one of her closest girlfriends over dinner in a November 13 episode. "I don't understand it. I lay in bed, and I say to myself, 'How did this happen? How did I get here?' "

"I sometimes interpret it as growing apart. I've changed and he has changed. We're both not happy and, you know, it's hard to try to work through that," Theresa continued. "It's not easy for me to sit here and to talk about this, to talk about my feelings, to talk about how my marriage is, but you know, things do change."

The medium was also overwhelmed by her emotions and broke down in tears in no time while doing a reading in last week's episode of the show, which follows her helping people with lost loved ones. "I'm in the middle of a reading with Erin and my own emotions about my relationship with Larry got the best of me," she told the camera. "This is a really hard time right now with Larry and I, and I don't know what's going to happen. It's just, it's wearing on me."

Meanwhile, it seemed like Larry didn't entirely give up on his love. Last week, Larry retweeted a fan's tweet in which the fan expressed support for the couple after learning that "right now are not such great times" in the pair's marriage.
