AceShowbiz - ABC has announced premiere date for season 5 of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.". The show is set to return for the new season on Friday, December 1, shortly after "Marvel's Inhumans" wraps up its freshman season.
"We're so proud of the way that 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' has grown creatively every season. The series is a top performer for us especially in delayed viewing where we see almost triple-digit increases," said Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment.
Dungey continued, "Season five is their strongest season yet, and we can't wait for the fans to see it. We feel that the move to Friday, creating a 'genre night' on ABC, appeals to the show's loyal fan base."
In addition, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will premiere with two episodes back-to-back at 8 P.M. Moving from Tuesday to Friday nights, the show will air at its regular time of 9 P.M. starting on December 8.
During an interview with SYFY WIRE at the New York Comic-Con, stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Henry Simmons and Natalia Cordova-Buckley discussed what to expect from the upcoming fifth season. "Now we're in space. We don't know where we are. We don't know who we're up against. Although, I suspect Marvel fans will see some characters that they recognize," Gregg teased.
The Phil Coulson depicter revealed that one of the things that he's proud of the show was the fact that the ensemble evolved "from this kind of ragtag bunch season one and kind of flashed out and evolved into this incredibly diverse close bunch of secret agent warriors, some with powers." He added, "And what I can say is that coming up we've got some even cooler characters about to join that family and to oppose them."
At the NYCC, the cast also shared a video of season 4 bloopers.
