AceShowbiz - "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" drops at least two teasers. The first full trailer is announced to premiere on October 9 at halftime during "Monday Night Football" game. A showdown between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears, the game airs on ESPN and kicks off at 5:15 P.M. PST.

One clip which comes out online focuses entirely on Daisy Ridley's Rey. It gives a sneak peek at the female scavenger from planet Jakku being hard at work polishing her lightsaber skills on planet Ahch-To. The young Jedi-in-training is supposedly mentored by Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ended with Rey locating the Jedi Master to return the blue lightsaber to its rightful owner. Now the teaser released on "Good Morning America" finally shows him accepting the weapon. His bionic hand is seen reaching for the laser sword from Rey's hand. In another place, a dark gloved hand presumably Kylo Ren's is grabbing his own weapon.

Directed by Rian Johnson, the film is scheduled for December 15 in the United States. Adam Driver is back as Kylo Ren and Carrie Fisher as General Leia. It will mark the late actress' final feature film. Other returning cast members include John Boyega, Lupita Nyong'o and Oscar Isaac while the new additions include Andy Serkis and Benicio Del Toro.

The movie will be followed by a spin-off that will explore (Harrison Ford) Han Solo's origin stories. It is slated for May 25, 2018. Alden Ehrenreich will play the young smuggler. He is joined by the likes of Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover and Thandie Newton. Phil Lord and Chris Miller originally directed the film, but they later left due to creative differences. Ron Howard was hired as a replacement.

"Star Wars Episode IX" which sees "The Force Awakens" helmer J.J. Abrams returning to the franchise is booked for a May 24, 2019 release. A stand-alone movie revolving around Luke Skywalker's former mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi is being developed as well. No director and actor is attached to the project.
