AceShowbiz - "American Idol" judge panel is finally complete! R&B singer Lionel Richie and country music crooner Luke Bryan are officially announced to join pop star Katy Perry as new juries on the upcoming revamped singing competition.

The new and improved "American Idol" is expected to premiere early 2018 on ABC after the Academy Awards. It gets rebooted only a year after ending its 14-year run on FOX. The original host Ryan Seacrest is confirmed to return for the revived show.

"I am very excited to be joining Katy, Luke and Ryan on American Idol," 68-year-old Richie gushed in a statement. "As a singer, songwriter and producer, I feel I can bring a great deal of experience to the table. It's going to be so much fun!"

"I'm excited at the chance to help some deserving artists reach their dreams," an equally-excited Bryan stated. "To be in a position in my career to help facilitate this along with the other judges is just a complete honor. It's gonna be a blast!"

"Luke and Lionel are the perfect additions to round out our panel of judges for 'American Idol' on ABC," Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, said in a statement. "In their respective genres of music, both Luke and Lionel possess insurmountable popularity and award-winning talent that are undeniable, and we are lucky that they will help in paving the way for hopefuls pursuing their dreams on our stage."

Ryan Seacrest tagged the three new judges on Twitter as he jokingly asked, "So who wants to start the @americanidol group chat?" Katy Perry was quick to respond, inserting a reference to Richie's classic song and Bryan's hit single into her post, "SO excited, I feel like DANCING ON THE CEILING. Time to KICK THE DUST UP! @lukebryanonline @lionelrichie let's do this @AmericanIdol thing."
