AceShowbiz - Stacy Ferguson a.k.a. Fergie's long-awaited album "Double Dutchess" finally arrived on Friday, September 22. To celebrate it, the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman released a music video for a track titled "Like It Ain't Nuttin' " off the set.
Fergie pays homage to classic hip-hop music as she channels her inner rapper on the song. It has similar old-school vibes to her Nicki Minaj-assisted track "You Already Know". As for the video, Fergie shows off some daring looks as she struts all over the city while spitting some slick bars.
"Diamond on the neck, got a diamond on the ring," she raps. "Cash rules everything around me, cream/ Dolla, dolla bills all around me, me/ I don't mean to brag, I don't mean to boast/ I didn't mean to roll up to the club in the ghost."
"Double Dutchess" marks Fergie's first album in more than ten years. It serves as the follow-up to her 2006 debut effort "The Dutchess". She previously revealed that she worked on "Double Dutchess" for three years, but decided to delay the release because of parenthood.
"Getting pregnant reset me. I just got on my game," she shared. "People wanted me to release it and I was like, 'it's good, but I want it to be great. I've never taken this much responsibility. I'm executive-producing [the album] and I kept wanting to make it better and better. I wanted to strive for greatness."
"Double Dutchess" also marks Fergie's first project since leaving her old label Interscope and creating her own label Dutchess Music a few months ago. "It's an opportunity to release my solo music as well as develop and nurture new artists," she previously said. "This next chapter in my career will allow me the independence to evolve both as artist and a businesswoman."
