While Spencer Wilding, who portrayed Vader in 'Rogue One', has denied his involvement in the upcoming 'Star Wars' spin-off, someone has reportedly slipped into Vader's armor during reshoots.

AceShowbiz - Speculation about Darth Vader's appearance in the upcoming Han Solo movie has resurfaced. A source close to the production has told The Hashtag Show that someone was on the set of the "Star Wars" spin-off wearing Darth Vader's armor during the reshoots about two weeks ago.

A few months ago, there was a speculation that Vader might be featured in the Han Solo standalone film as Spencer Wilding, who portrayed Vader in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", bailed out on an appearance at a convention reportedly because he was filming a role in "the newest film in the 'Star Wars' universe." However, Wilding has denied any involvement in the untitled stand-alone Star Wars film II.

Considering Wilding's statement, it appears that another actor, not Wilding, was hired to slip into Vader's costume for the scene(s) in the Han Solo movie. How big Vader's role in the upcoming film is still unknown.

The Han Solo movie is due May 25, 2018 stateside. Alden Ehrenreich will play a young version of Harrison Ford's Han Solo, Donald Glover stars as Han Solo's buddy Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson is cast as Han Solo's mentor named Beckett, and Joonas Suotamo portrays Chewbacca. Other cast members include Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Ian Kenny, Michael K. Williams and Warwick Davis.

Director Ron Howard, who supervises the reshoots, recently shared a picture of Paul Bettany on the set. "Another terrific performance from a world class talent," he gushed about the actor. Bettany's role is still kept under wraps. Some suggested he might be brought in to replace Michael K. Williams who's cut from the film because he's unable for reshoots due to scheduling conflicts, but others believed he portrayed a new character.

The movie will focus on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley.
