Macklemore and Kesha Get Sentimental on New Song 'Good Old Days'

The two artists are pondering about their past and future on the new track, which will be featured on Macklemore's upcoming album 'Gemini'.

AceShowbiz - In anticipation of the release of Macklemore's new album "Gemini" on September 22, the Seattle-based rapper has premiered a new song off the effort. Titled "Good Old Days", the emotional track features some catchy verses from Ke$ha and mellow, indie pop beats.

The soulful song finds Macklemore and Kesha showcasing their emotional vulnerability and anxiety about the future. It oozes sense of loss that accompanies nostalgia. Kesha wails on the chorus over the gravelly R&B tune, "I wish somebody would have told me that/ That some day, these will be the good old days."

"Good Old Days" marks Macklemore's third single off "Gemini", following "Marmalade" featuring Lil Yachty and "Glorious" featuring Skylar Grey. Additionally, the song is Kesha's first track as a featured artist in nearly four years. The songstress and Macklemore are set to perform it next week on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show".

Of Kesha's involvement on the song, Macklemore recently said, "She is someone that I walked into the room and I immediately just caught a vibe and became friends with instantaneously.... She's a musician, she's a writer, she's someone that is not afraid to try ideas in the studio, not afraid to get vulnerable in front of people, not scared to go for the high note when she doesn't know if she can hit it or not. She is a musician in every sense of the word, and she's hilarious."

The spitter also shared that his new album would be very personal as it was inspired by his own experiences in life. "For the most part, it's where I'm at in life. If I'm in a good place, that's gonna be reflected in music. I don't want to make music because I feel like I have to, or because that's what people expect," he explained, before adding, "I'm just trying to have fun in the studio, and hopefully pull people out of those moments that they're seeing on the news."
