AceShowbiz - Ariel Winter's estranged mother, Crystal Workman, is opening up about her concern over her daughter's choice of outfits as well as her racy photos. In an interview with Inside Edition published on Tuesday, September 19, Crystal said she "just want to see her have respect for herself and have some class."
One picture in particular that concerned Crystal the most was a paparazzi photo featuring her 19-year-old estranged daughter sizzling in a bikini while lifting her leg over her head, with a martini glass in her hand. Crystal admitted that she "saw it and all I could do was cry and feel bad for her."
Crystal told the publication that Ariel's "starving for attention. I feel that this is a cry for help from my child." Crystal then said she wanted to reconcile with her estranged daughter. "It's time to fix your relationship with your mom. Every girl needs her mom and every mom needs her daughter," she said.
This comes after Ariel launched a lengthy rant on her Instagram account to defend her clothing choices. She said in the Monday post, "I'd also like to address the tweets I get saying 'you accused your mother of sexualizing you yet you're a whore.' I was a CHILD being dressed like I was 24. I was 8-13 years old."
The "Modern Family" star went on noting, "I wasn't an ADULT as I am now. As you mature at 16, 17, 18, you further develop your own identity and can make decisions for yourself." She continued, "As a child, you do as you're told regardless of what is good for you. I'm an ADULT now, who can make my own choices and have my own identity."
Crystal and Ariel's relationship has been strained for many years. Ariel won emancipation from her estranged mom back in May 2015 after a years-long custody battle. The former Disney star was just 14 when she took Crystal to court amid physical and emotional abuse.
Ariel revealed that she was prepared to go to foster care back in 2012, until her older sister Shanelle agreed to take her in. Shanelle was named legal guardian in May 2014 after the Department of Children and Family Services found evidence of Crystal emotionally abusing Ariel.
