AceShowbiz - %cCorinne Olympios% sat down with host %cChris Harrison% in the Tuesday, August 29 episode of "Bachelor in Paradise". She spoke up about the sex scandal involving her and %cDeMario Jackson% that led to the temporary shutdown of the season 4 production in Mexico.
"I'm like, really nervous," she said. "This is my first time talking about what happened." Asked how she was doing after getting through the ordeal, she said, "I am doing a lot better." She added that she had been spending time with her family, specifically her mom who was staying with her.
Corinne then recalled the incident, "The first day, unfortunately, I don't remember much of. I definitely overdrank." She continued, "I was also on some medication that you're not supposed to drink on," assuring the host that she's "now weaning myself off that medication."
She remembered the next morning she was lying in bed and thinking, "I just don't understand." Still, she went through the day "normally" and had "no hard feelings" towards DeMario. When asked if she felt DeMario did anything wrong, Corinne said, "I honestly don't think he did anything wrong." She added, "I don't think it's anyone's fault. It's just a really unfortunate, annoying situation that had to go down."
"The only regret I have is letting myself drink too much - that's it," Corinne admitted. "It was unfortunate. But you know what, I'm an adult and I have to move past it." She also apologized to DeMario who had to go through a hard time. "I would want to tell him, 'Listen, I respect you as a human,' " she said during the sit-down. " 'I have nothing against you. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I know what it feels like. I'm sorry.' "
Meanwhile, in a statement to PEOPLE, Corinne explained her remark that she was "a victim" as she said in her response to the investigation into the alleged sexual misconduct. "At that point in time, I saw myself as a victim of having something this serious happen to you and have the media paint you a certain way that you know you aren't and having all these people make their judgments and comments and they don't even know what happened or went on," she told the magazine.
She stressed, "That's what I'm a victim of. I never meant that I was a victim of DeMario. I strongly believe he had no bad intentions at all. It was all good. It was unfortunate that no one really knew how intoxicated I actually was at the time. I believe that nobody knew that. It was nobody's fault. I was a victim of not really knowing what happened at the time. We were just really trying to get to bottom of everything."
The investigation eventually found no evidence of any misconduct during the first day of filming "BIP" season 4. The production resumed later in summer, but Corinne and DeMario didn't return to the set in Mexico.
