Revealing Wanna One's Grueling Schedule, Kang Daniel Says He Sleeps Only One Hour a Day

The former contestant of 'Produce 101' reveals on his variety show 'It's Dangerous Beyond the Blankets' that he wakes up at four or five in the morning and practices until two or three at night.

AceShowbiz - Being a star isn't easy. After becoming the winner of "Produce 101" season 2, Kang Daniel has been kept busy with Wanna One's promotional activities. In the first episode of his variety show "It's Dangerous Beyond the Blankets", Daniel reveals he usually only gets to sleep one hour a day.

"I wake up at around 4-5A.M., and prepare for schedules. We practice until 3A.M., sleep for about an hour, and go back out. Sometimes I think, 'I wish I could rest for just one day,' " he tells the producers of the three-part series. Daniel also reveals his daily activities, "I play games and drink alone. I eat a lot of jelly from early on in the morning."

Daniel previously revealed that he once thought about quitting "Produce 101". He recently said on "Wanna One Go" that he had had a hard time while preparing for their performance of "Sorry Sorry". He was confident that the performance would be great, but it turned out getting the lowest votes. "I was really shocked," he recalled with a laugh.

He added, "I was wondering, 'Should I quit?' I really wanted to quit. I was so embarrassed." Though so, he credited the preparation of the "Sorry Sorry" performance for helping him get through the competition with a solid teamwork.

Daniel ranked 1st during the final broadcast of "Produce 101" season 2 and was subsequently given the center position of Wanna One. Prior to participating on the show, the the 20-year-old Busan native whose birth name is Kang Eui Geon had appeared on "Her Secret Weapon" as a backup dancer for Fiestar's Cao Lu during her performance of "Invitation" by Uhm Jung Hwa.

Wanna One released their debut album "1×1=1 (To Be One)" on August 8 with the song "Energetic". The song has topped various music charts in South Korea, placing first on SBS' music show "Inkigayo!" for the 11th week in the episode that aired August 26.
