Following the success of "TiK ToK" in 2010, Ke$ha has been one of the brightest female artists in music industry. However, her career came to shocking halt in 2014 after she sued her mentor Dr. Luke for alleged sexual assault and battery, gender violence, emotional abuse and violation of business practice.

The legal battle threatened to destroy her career and effectively kept her out of the studio for a few years. And now, despite the ongoing battle, Kesha has decided to pour her heart out on music. After working on a new album for almost a year, Kesha finally released her first effort in nearly five years on August 11.

Titled "Rainbow", the effort was dubbed "a healing album." Kesha recently shared, "This whole album, for me, really is a healing album. It's healing from so many things from my past and just trying to get back to the most, childlike, naive, purest version of myself that I can find--the most free-spirited, un-jaded version of myself."

"Rainbow" is led by a heartfelt song called "Praying". According to Kesha, the track channels her feelings of "severe hopelessness and depression" while she finds strength in herself "even when it felt out of reach." She said of the song, "I've never been more excited about a piece of art I've ever done in my entire life. This is truly from the inside of my guts."

The songstress isn't slowing down. A few weeks after releasing "Rainbow", she will embark on a tour in support of the follow-up to "Warrior". The North American trek will kick off in Brimingham on September 26 and conclude in Los Angeles on November 1.

"My new album 'Rainbow' is dedicated to my fans. And I'm so excited to be able to invite you all to come boogie with me on my 'Rainbow Tour'," Kesha said in a statement. "I would not have made it to this point without my animals and supporters so now come out and join the celebration with me."
