The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus and More to Perform at 2017 MTV Video Music Awards

The three singers have been added to the performer lineup of the award-giving event, which will air live from The Forum on August 27 on MTV.

AceShowbiz - We're less than three weeks away from the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, and the network has revealed the first round of performers at the upcoming event. The A-list artists who are set to rock the stage include Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Fifth Harmony, Lorde, Shawn Mendes and 30 Seconds to Mars. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Besides being a performer, Katy is slated to host the show. She is nominated in five categories this year, including Best Direction for "Chained to the Rhythm" ft. Skip Marley and Best Art Direction for "Bon Appetit" ft. Migos. Similarly, The Weeknd scores five nods, mostly for his "Reminder" music video.

Ed Sheeran is nominated in three categories, including Artist of the Year, Best Pop and Best Cinematography. Lorde scores two nominations, and will compete against The Weeknd and Ed for Artist of the Year. Fifth Harmony is also nominated twice this year. Meanwhile, Shawn Mendes and Miley Cyrus are only nominated in one category each.

The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from The Forum in Inglewood, California, on August 27 at 8 P.M. ET.
