LuAnn de Lesseps and her husband Tom D'Agostino got some heartbreaking news for "The Real Housewives of New York City" co-stars and fans after making a shocking divorce announcement less than a year after tying the knot. Following the announcement, a slew of LuAnn's "RHONY" co-stars showed support for her.
"My heart goes out to LuAnn during this difficult time," Tinsley Mortimer said in a statement. "In life, some people think that it's holding on that makes one strong; however, sometimes it's letting go."
Dorinda Medley, who set up LuAnn and Tom and was a bridesmaid at their New Year's Eve wedding, shared that she was "very saddened." She continued, "It's always sad to see a marriage break up and obviously so quickly. I wish them the best. I'm just very sad. It's heartbreaking, really. It's heartbreaking for LuAnn too, because I love her and I know how much she loves Tom. As I said on the show, I'll be here whenever she needs me. When it goes well, when it doesn't go well, I'm here."
"I told LuAnn I'm there for her whether this worked out or not and here I am. Men come and go, and at the end the day, we have our girlfriends, don't we?" said Sonja Morgan, extending support to LuAnn. She went on saying to E! News, "I wanted it to work out, but I want her to know I'm here for her." Ramona Singer, meanwhile, added, "My heart breaks for her. LuAnn went into this wanting to make it work. I've never seen her happier."
Host Andy Cohen didn't personally respond to the divorce. However, he retweeted LuAnn's tweet on his Twitter account.
Rumors had it that Tom's lifestyle was the final straw that led their marriage to divorce. "Tom was 50 and had never been married. He never wanted to give up his bachelor lifestyle," a source close to the couple told PEOPLE.

LuAnn and Tom exchanged vows on December 31 in a lavish wedding in Palm Beach, Florida. They got engaged in February last year when the businessman proposed to her with a gorgeous eight-carat canary yellow diamond ring.
