Houston rapper Z-Ro has been arrested for allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend, rapper Just Brittany, for more than two hours. TMZ is the first to report the news. Brittany spoke to Harris County, Texas, cops on Monday, July 24, while the incident reportedly happened back in April.

Law enforcement sources have revealed to the news outlet that Brittany played recorded audio of the alleged assault for police officers. It's still unclear why the 28-year-old waited three months to report it, though.

The sources say cops wrote a report and immediately sent it to the Harris County District Attorney's Office, allowing them to determine if it was enough to arrest Z-Ro on Wednesday, July 26 and charge him with felony aggravated assault. The 40-year-old rapper is currently being held without bond.

Late last year, the former couple collaborated on the track "Mama Should've Told Me".
