Maren Morris is heading to the altar. The rising country music singer is taking her relationship with boyfriend Ryan Hurd to the next level. The 27-year-old musician said yes when his 32-year-old beau popped the big question. The newly-engaged star broke the news on Instagram.
The bride-to-be shared a picture of her sitting on her fiance's lap. One of her hands adorned with her new engagement ring rested on her husband-to-be's thigh while her other hand held a bottle of Corona Light. "Yes [ring emoji]," so she wrote in the caption.
Maren Morris climbed to No. 1 on Billboard Country Digital Songs chart with her debut single "My Church". She was nominated for Best New Artist at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards last year and won Best Country Solo Performance for her hit song.
Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd met in 2013 during a songwriting session. They wrote the song "Last Turn Home" together for Tim McGraw's 2014 album "Sundown Heaven Town". The couple started dating in 2015.
She said, "We had been friends for only a couple of years, but there was always this writing chemistry in the room, and eventually, the timing of it was undeniable. We had such a foundation built off writing so many songs over the years that we were like, 'Why are we avoiding this.' "
